The New Jeff Era
After the end of a 16-year relationship that shaped a huge part of my life, I entered what I call the New Jeff Era. This chapter is about rebuilding, rediscovering who I am as an individual, trying new things, and building a life that feels exciting and meaningful again.

Stuff That Lights My Brain Up

• Technology and computers — especially anything that blinks, beeps, or buzzes. I like understanding systems and making them behave.
• Tech experiments — firewalls, weird network projects, Magic Mirrors, flashing routers, and the occasional “let’s see if I can make this work” idea.
• Questions — I genuinely love asking them. In college, one teacher nicknamed me “One More Question.”
• LEGOs — still one of my favorite things on earth.
• Quiet walks in nature — especially places where you can think, talk, or just breathe for a minute.
• Helping people solve problems — fixing something that’s frustrating someone else is deeply satisfying.
• Research rabbit holes — if something catches my curiosity, I will absolutely go too deep.
• Trying new foods — the New Jeff is much more willing to explore than the old one was.
• Comfort shows and anime — rewatching favorites counts as self-care.
• Video games — especially games that let me explore, build, or get a little lost in them.
• Music — angry rap, sing-along songs, and a lot of 80s, 90s, and 2000s energy.
• Deep conversations — the kind where you actually learn who somebody is.

• Honesty — I believe truthful, real conversations build the strongest relationships.
• Optimism — life can be messy, but I still try to look for the win.
• Gratitude — appreciation matters, and “thank you” should never be rare.

• I work on myself. Personal growth matters to me.

• Trust can be hard for me. Once it’s broken, rebuilding it can take a long time.
• I overthink. My brain likes to replay conversations and analyze details.
• My emotions run big. I feel things strongly, which can make life feel intense sometimes.
• I can get jealous or insecure. Usually when I care a lot.
• I’m physically affectionate. Some people love that, some people absolutely do not.
• I like engaged attention. If we’re spending time together and you’re glued to your phone, I’m probably going to hate that.
• When I care, I care a lot. My loyalty can be a lot of energy in one place.

• Primary Love Language: Physical Touch
  Physical touch is easily my strongest love language. Things like hugs, sitting close, casual affection, or a hand on the shoulder make me feel connected and grounded with someone.
• Conversation Mode
  My second biggest way of connecting with people is through deep one-on-one conversations. I love getting into real discussions about ideas, life, philosophy, or anything interesting enough to explore.
• Intellectual Sparring
  I genuinely enjoy thoughtful debates and verbal sparring. Not arguments — more like two people playfully testing ideas, perspectives, and logic. Seeing how someone thinks and how sharp they are is incredibly attractive to me.

  Back scratches are basically a cheat code. If someone scratches my back, I will probably melt on the spot.

• Be real. I connect best through honest conversations and genuine energy.

• Enjoy deep conversations. Small talk is fine, but real talk is where I connect.

• Know that I’m loyal. I connect best one-on-one, I joke around a lot, and if you’re my person, I’ll show up.

• It’s my way of sharing life updates without disappearing into the void.

• I can get weirdly excited about solving small technical problems.
• I like understanding how systems work — computers, networks, people, or life in general.
• I occasionally build strange little tech experiments just to see if I can make them work.
• If something is broken, confusing, or mysterious, my brain wants to poke at it until it makes sense.
